We don’t mind sacrificing a little comfort during our travels if that means reducing our carbon footprint. But then again, not all eco-conscious hotels call for lights out and cold showers. The 10 hotels that make our list of those with the best eco-friendly perks aren’t all LEED-certified, but they still know that going green makes guests and Mother Earth happy. 1. FACT OR FAKEOUT? The Bellagio is now offering unlimited caviar at The Buffet restaurant with the purchase of a $37.99 dinner.
2. FACT OR FAKEOUT? The Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco is now offering a package that includes a private visit to China’s Terracotta Warriors exhibition at the Asian Art Museum, where guests can view the 2,000-year-old statues.
3. FACT OR FAKEOUT? A woman is suing the Viceroy Snowmass after allegedly having been served a glass of bleach instead of water at the hotel’s Eight K Restaurant in 2011.
4. FACT OR FAKEOUT? Justin Bieber was kicked out of the Langham Hotel London after his neighbors complained about the singer’s wild partying with three female friends.
5. FACT OR FAKEOUT? Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence was seen smoking a suspicious “hand-rolled cigarette” during her stay at The Kahala Hotel and Resort in Oahu, Hawaii.

Skiing is one of our favorite winter pastimes: There’s just something about getting out in the fresh air (and fresh powder) that does a body good. And whether you’re doing the “pizza” down the bunny slopes or have mastered the double black diamond, you’ll be sure to have a great time, especially considering all the other offerings ski destinations and hotels have: gorgeous spas, fabulous shopping, heated pools, you name it. So without further adieu, here’s a roundup of our favorite ski hotels that go above and beyond with amenities such as ski-in/ski-out locations, elegant rooms, and activity-packed itineraries.
Viceroy Snowmass
Viceroy Snowmass is easily the most luxurious resort in Snowmass Village, and is packed with top-notch amenities, including a 7,000-square-foot spa with a stunning relaxation room, a solid fitness center, and a lovely pool area with heated saline pool, cabanas, and fire pit. It also offers phenomenal ski valet service (valets will take care of everything from scheduling lessons to putting your boots on for you) and a prime ski-in, ski-out location. There’s a daily resort fee, and you’ll have to pay for valet, but that’s to be expected at a resort of this caliber.
