Jersey Shore

Looking to escape to the beach for one last summer hurrah? Well, have we got the place for you: New Jersey. Stay with me. The Garden State has 130 miles of coastline and, contrary to what MTV might have you believe, not all of those beaches are chockfull of Snookis and Situations. Cape May has some of our favorite stays on the Shore that are anything but typical (or trashy). At this seaside town, visitors can catch some waves, swim with the dolphins, go whale watching, shop ‘til they drop, and so much more. Of course, there are always boozy days on the beach a la our favorite guidos, but Cape May and other Jersey towns are proving that there’s a lot more fun to be had down the Shore than just keg stands and table dancing.

1. The Mission Inn

Mission Inn

Unlike the majority of the Victorian-style bed and breakfasts in the Cape May area — or anywhere on the East Coast, for that matter — the Mission Inn, built in 1912, was constructed in the classic California Spanish architectural style. Perfect for couples seeking a romantic getaway by the Jersey Shore, the upscale inn includes individually designed rooms (each themed after a different California mission) and an impressive home-cooked daily breakfast. And bonus: You’re only a block from sun and sand. Read More »

Snooki and Jionni hosted a Spring Break party -- wonder if she ever thought she'd be hosting a baby shower a year later? Credit: PRN/PR Photos

The hot mess that is Snooki — and her suprisingly doting now-fiancee, Jionni LaValle — had a rather torrid courtship (played out on TV) before the proverbial sh*t hit the fan and she announced her pregnancy and engagement. Regardless of how we think her baby will turn out (Will it be born with pink and blonde extensions? A penchant for getting arrested?), we have the scoop on where and when it all went down.

  • March 2011: Simpler times at the Luxor Hotel – Las Vegas, NV
  • Snooks kicked off last year’s Spring Break season by hosting a party at the Vegas spin-off of Los Angeles club LAX with her then-new BF in tow. While she may have been a bit sloppy (I mean, just look at her), she reportedly earned $25,000 just to dance and drink for a few hours at the club. Unlike the hotel’s ancient Egyptian vibe, LAX features deep red leather interiors, oversized mirrors and glittering chandeliers, as well as an A-List crowd. (However, the room rates are pretty cheap here — some serious bang for your buck.) And with the Luxor possibly making $45,000 in bar fees from one shot of Snooki, it’s not surprising she has been often welcomed back to the City of Sin since.

Season 5 of MTV’s Jersey Shore premiered last week, and it’s nice to seem them back in Jerz, with the boardwalk, the beach, and plenty of — or in some cases, too much — booze. But now that each of ‘em rakes in $100,000 per episode, our favorite Guidos and Guidettes can afford to get drunk and trash a place that’s way more luxe than their current Shore digs, so we found hotels where the cast can GTL (for non viewers, that means “gym-tan-laundry”) and enjoy a whole slew of Jersey-approved amenities. After all, you can take Snooki out of the Jersey Shore, but you can’t take the Jersey Shore out of Snooki.

Entrance at Metropole South Beach

On this season of MTV’s Jersey Shore, the cast escapes a blustery winter on the Shore and migrates south, shacking up at the Metropole South Beach in Miami. The 42-suite boutique property did not accept reservations “due to high demand” while the show was filming earlier this year, but now that Jersey Shore has returned to, well, the Jersey Shore, the hotel is open for business once again. So if you’re planning a hair-gelling, GTL-ing, fist-pumping good time, here’s the situation you can expect to find at the Metropole.

Check out our photos of the Metropole South Beach!

One of the pool bars at the Clevelaner Hotel, where we expect to find the Jersey Shore cast next season

One of the pool bars at the Clevelander Hotel, where we expect to find the Jersey Shore cast next season.

We caught wind on Tuesday (thanks, Gawker) that season 2 of MTV’s Jersey Shore will film in none other than Miami’s party central, South Beach. After getting over our initial confusion about the move (I thought the premise of Jersey Shore was that it takes place on the .. um .. Jersey Shore), we realized that there’s actually a ton of potential for booze-fueled debauchery in Miami. If the cast has to move somewhere, South Beach may just be the perfect fit.

If you’re hoping to catch a glimpse of Snooki, DJ Pauly D, and the rest of the GTL crew — or hoping to steer clear of them at all costs — here’s where we expect them to be partying this season:
