- Mike Tyson awoke on NYE to rustling sounds in his room at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas and found a burglar going through his luggage. The intruder was able to escape before the ex-boxer realized what was going on. [TMZ]
- (Sort of) Heroic start of the year for Sofia Vergara. The “Modern Family” star saw a young woman collapse while partying at the brand-new Hyde Bar at Bellagio and rushed over to help her. “I didn’t save her life! Caesars Palace played a major role in The Hangover, released on DVD and Blu-Ray today
Caesars Palace has defined excess on the Strip since it opened in the 1960s, so it’s no wonder it was selected as the bachelor party pad of choice in blockbuster hit The Hangover, which hits stores today in DVD and Blu-Ray formats. If we can’t actually travel, we love visiting places vicariously through movies, and fortunately our beloved Las Vegas has been featured in quite a few. The flashing lights, jiggling tassels, rolling dice, and 24-hour wedding chapels of Sin City have driven countless film plotlines, and Oyster’s favorite characters — hotels — often make cameos along the way.
