Faked Photo of the Day: Breezes Montego Bay

by Kelsey on June 23, 2009

The beautiful sunset, lush foliage, cushioned lounge chairs and decorative Jacuzzi tiles in the Breezes hotel website photo below look lovely and romantic — but, as our reporter found, they don’t actually exist! Staged travel hotel photos are all over the place on the web. Add enough air brushing and any hotel will look like the Taj Mahal.

That’s a great first blog. Breeze’s is part of a big hotel group in the Caribbean and it’s hard to believe it’s true. But I’ll believe you.

I look forward to seeing what you post as the idea of a mass market type of hotel review service is appealing. I still might want to see what Conde Nast has to say about the hotels, and as a luxury travel agent, I’ll compare (initially at least) with what I read through a ‘travel agent only’ service I subscribe too.

Good luck!

I’ve looked at countless websites for hotels and never realized they doctored photos so intensely. It’s embarrassing to see the extent hotels will compromise their reputation for business.

I’ve never been a big blogger but find your blog funny and educational :)

Thanks!
