The days are getting cooler, the nights are getting longer, and the aroma of Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte is in the air. It’s fall! That’s right, die-hard leaf peepers; we’ve found some of the best places to check out the fall colors. Stay in a hotel with stunning views of the trees, or with easy access to the city’s best parks.

- The Boston Common, down the street from the Taj Boston
Bought from the Ritz-Carlton in 2007, the Taj Boston holds on to the Ritz’ elegant look, but also offers some superb perks, like chenille bathrobes and free rides in the house Jaguar. Given its free business center, well-equipped gym, and ideal location bordering the Public Garden and the swank boutiques along Newbury Street, it’s an excellent luxury pick. Room categories with views of the Public Garden include Premier Rooms, Deluxe Rooms — Park View, and Commonwealth Suites.

A few days ago, we headed down to balmy Miami to search for the sexiest hotel bathrooms with FOX’s lifestyle show, Deco Drive. Together we put together a TV segment on some of the coolest, chicest, down-right sexiest hotel bathrooms in all of Miami. We needed a place to rest our heads during our trip, so we chose The Setai South Beach, knowing that the Asian-inspired oasis — located in the center of South Beach — would not disappoint. And it didn’t. Though our trip was short, we were reminded how much we love the over-the-top amenities and tranquil ambiance of The Setai. Below is a little bit more about why we love it so — with photos to boot.
Soaking Tub in the Studio Spa Suite
It doesn’t get much sexier than this. The Studio Spa Suite features an open bathroom, and a large soaking tub in the middle of the room. The set-up gives the room a spacious, free-flowing feel, ideal for couples. But those looking for a little privacy can find that too: Rattan-covered doors can be pulled shut to separate the bathroom from the rest of the room (though the tub is still out in the main room).

When was the last time you destroyed a $1200 presidential suite? From loonies like Charlie Sheen to grungy-angry personalities like Johnny Depp, celebs sure know how to party (and pay for it). Maybe if they’d had a Gatorade on their night table, things would have turned out differently. Party on!
Charlie Sheen Trashes New York’s Plaza Hotel
Charlie Sheen’s recent debauchery at The Plaza Hotel cost him a pretty penny. The allegedly drugged and naked Sheen (just two months out of rehab) frantically trashed his suite in a rage to find his wallet and cellphone after partying with a hooker. Sheen admitted to police that he was in fact drunk and high, after they found tables and chairs thrown around the room and a damaged chandelier. Sheen owed the hotel $7,000.

If you’re pregnant and looking for a parking spot, head to Punta Cana Resort & Club for some VIP parking rights. If you’re looking for a private, romantic night in your hotel room, just hang the “Fuhgettaboudit” sign on your door knob at Le Parker Meridien in New York. Whether intentional or not, these hotel signs hit the funny bone.

Movie star Scarlett Johansson is in New York supporting Manhattan Borough President and expected mayoral candidate Scott Stringer. She hosted a fundraiser for him last night at The Plaza, where tickets cost between $2,500 and $10,000. Afterwards, she threw a party downtown at the Jane Hotel, where tickets went for $50 to $1,000.
Over the summer, Johansson and Stringer sat down for coffee at the Carlyle Hotel to casually discuss the future of New York City. Having grown up in New York City, both feel strongly about food policy, the environment and education issues.
